The role of a GP Expert Witness is to provide specialist information and opinion on the medical care provided by General Practitioners. GP Expert Witnesses differ from other medical experts, as their experience includes a broad range of medical aspects, both physical and mental, reflecting the role carried out by GPs. Courts rely on the opinion of GP medico-legal experts to help them make decisions on matters including claims for medical negligence and Personal Injury. The GP medico-legal experts have many years of experience preparing expert witness reports, which are clear and concise, appearing as a witness for both the Prosecution and Defence.
