What is skin camouflage?

Skin camouflage is where specialist creams and powders are applied to the face or body, to reduce the appearance of scars, marks, discolouration, or skin conditions. The specific skin camouflage products can be used on all genders and on children. What is the role of the skin camouflage expert witness?

An expert witness who specialises in non-surgical scar management may be instructed by a medicolegal agency or Solicitor to provide a medicolegal examination and produce a Civil Procedure Rules compliant report. The report is addressed to the court and must include a signed declaration from the expert witness, to confirm their duty to the court and that they have complied. The report may then be used in evidence if the case progresses to court.
